Automation and IT Management Goes Hand-in-Hand for Austin Businesses

Automation and IT Management Goes Hand-in-Hand for Austin Businesses

Time is money, and smart businesses understand that by increasing productivity and reducing the time to complete tasks, they increase their profit. Modern automation is driven by modern technology, and that technology needs to be implemented properly, as well as maintained, so your business can stay ahead.

What is Automation?

The goal of automation is to increase your organization's productivity by freeing your team from having to perform mundane, repetitive, or even dangerous tasks. Setting up tasks to run without human intervention frees your team to focus more of their attention on doing their jobs as opposed to spending their time just getting ready to do it. In some cases, automation allows a business to operate around the clock, or with reduced staff, or reduce the chance of human error for long, complex processes.

Automation can take several forms, from industrial robotics and drones to custom-developed scripts that perform a process in your line of business application. Modern applications utilize complex artificial intelligence to automate data processing, and modern customer relationship management platforms can automate your marketing.

That doesn’t mean these solutions simply do the work for you—you still need to set them up, maintain them, feed them the data they need, and handle the creative side. Even then, we’ve come a long way with technology and it is only going to get better as time goes on.

We Use Automation to Manage Your Business IT

Automation plays a big role for us, and it helps ensure we can provide high-end, enterprise-level support, but do it so it fits the means of a smaller business.

This is a huge difference between Capstone Works and other computer consultants or computer repair companies in the area. Where we certainly can perform service calls and fix broken PCs and swap out power supplies and fix blue the screen of death, we would much rather utilize automation to handle the proactive layer of IT so our technicians can focus on stopping problems before they cost your business time and money. This also frees us to implement new technologies that can actually help a business make more money or do more with less.

The way we see it, if you grow, we grow. Automation is the key to all of this.

Here are a few of the ways we use automation:

  • Advanced IT monitoring tools allow our team to watch over your network at all hours of the day, 24/7, 365. These tools are normally outside of the range of a smaller business, but we know it takes the best set of tools to accomplish the best work.
  • Batch installs and process deployment allows us to work with larger networks with fewer technicians. We can deploy a new application to a 100-computer network overnight and each PC will be configured, tested, and ready without having a technician needing to physically touch each workstation.
  • Automatic and vetted updates and patches ensure that your systems will be as secure as possible. We test out updates in a development environment and then deploy them once they are deemed stable.
  • Documentation! While writing documentation isn’t exactly an automated process, it leads to consistency and automation down the road. We don’t touch anything without thoroughly documenting it—serial numbers, model numbers, warranty information, who installed it, who uses it, etc. We also tie any support back to the physical hardware or software, serving as a long-running knowledge base. This is huge because we can essentially audit every change or problem that has occurred during the life of a device, and help you make extremely informed decisions when it comes to your IT budget.
